Remodeling is all about putting your stamp
on your house. Often you start with someone else's idea, and
have to create order. It's an opportunity to correct problems,
modernize, and upgrade, upgrade, upgrade.
For example, in Project 2, the entrance and exit to the dressing
room were different widths, and the dressing room itself was a hall of
mirrors - floor to ceiling, wall to wall mirrors. That didn't appeal
to this owner.
It's a great example of a remodeling, as it involved
electrical, structural work, trim, doors, drywall, plumbing, and
cabinetry. Timing subcontractors, coordinating work and constant
quality control are key in every remodeling project. And excellent
communications with the homeowner.
Often homeowners don't have the vocabulary or experience
to communicate their needs, especially to specialized trades. If everyone
doesn't share the image, the result is frustrated craftsmen, unhappy
homeowners and lots more money.
